My Autumn Favourites/Essentials

Now that we are well into the Autumn months, I thought I'd opt for a bit of a change in my usual makeup and skincare routine. For makeup, besides the usual introduction of plum lip colours, I changed up my regular black, kohl liner for MAC's Technakohl Liner in the colour 'Purple Dash'. My mum introduced me to these liners late last year and I now have them in a few different colours, though this by far my favourite. The application of this liner is brilliantly smooth and great for creating a colourful twist on the graphic eye seen so many times on the catwalks this year.

Another great product for creating the graphic eye is the black liquid liner. My particular favourite is Soap and Glory's Supercat Liner Pen. Because of the fact it is a marker, it makes the application much easier and is great for creating a perfect, precise wing.

Though an old product in my collection, as you can probably tell from the old packaging, this loose MAC pigment in the colour 'Melon' has been a seemingly, regular choice when I do my eye makeup. I love the colour of this product and even though it is quite glamorous, it is easy to use to make a more sheer, every day look, as well as being easily build-able to make a more dramatic look. I like to pat this over my lid with a light, brown, matte shadow in my crease to contrast how shimmery the pigment is - to make this look more dramatic, I'd switch out the light brown for a darker shadow to add more drama to the eye.

The cold weather can really take its toll on my already dry skin and naturally, curly hair. To combat these temperature changes I like to apply a weekly hair mask to my hair. My current favourite is this Moroccan Oil one. It is a lot thicker than the one I had previously been using but leaves my hair looking and feeling softer.

As well as my hair, the weather change really has an effect on my skin. A product I discovered a few years ago and have used in the winter, every year since is this Ahava Time to Hydrate Moisturiser. It is a lot thicker than most moisturisers and I do find that only a small amount is needed, as anymore can cause my skin to break out and become oily. This product is also great for applying as a base under makeup for a smooth foundation application.

Nail colours are the easiest way to transition your looks from Summer to Autumn. Matte nails have been a huge trend this year so I recently picked up this Topshop one, which I find does the job but anymore than a thin coat can cause my nail colours to become grey looking. The next nail product I've been loving is this one from Mavala in the colour 'Ginza'. Black nails are a year round obsession of mine, my most recent addition to my black nail collection is this one from Nails inc. in the colour Maddox Street. This colour is probably more of a shimmery gun metal than a black which is something I really like about it and is easily my current favourite nail polish.

So, I'm slightly late to jump on the bandwagon with this one but I'm OBSESSED with my first eos lip balm. I saw them in the Oxford Street Topshop in London and I had to have one. Mine is in the honeysuckle flavour and I have been using it, easily, a hundred times a day. Maybelline Baby Lips have finally arrived in the UK and I was sure to pick up one that I had heard so much about which is the 'Cherry Me' flavour which is perfect for me since I love red lips so much.

My final, and only non-beauty, favourite is this Lily-Flame candle in the Lavender and Lime scent. This time of year is not complete without candles and this one has definitely been well loved these last few weeks. This scent leaves my whole room smelling beautiful and I definitely want to invest in some more candles from Lily-Flame.

I'd love to hear some of your Autumn favourites and essentials!
