Bohemian Statement Earrings

I love any bohemian aesthetic, I just love all the trademark floaty pieces and eclectic patterns. Sticking with the bohemian theme, I thought I'd further explore my love for this style in the form of statement earrings. I've been extremely inspired by these beautiful pieces that have been seen everywhere for the last few months. Particularly in the autumn season I love the way a pair of elegant earrings pairs perfectly with a messy topknot. I love the more simple earrings as well as the more intricate pieces, both perfectly add gorgeous touches to even the most slouchy of fall-time looks.

Free people is the perfect place to fill any bohemian wardrobe. I have been obsessing over their website for some time now, and I am definitely putting some of their pieces on my Christmas/Channukah/Birthday wishlist! I found some gorgeous earrings during my many visits to their website and I thought I'd share with you, some of my favourites. (Links to all websites will be at the bottom of this post)

Coin earrings epitomize the bohemian, statement earring so it's no wonder I'm so obsessed with these. I love the intricate detailing on these and I think paired with messy hair, these would be the perfect touch to a laid-back feeling look.

These earrings, though very different to the previous pair, scream autumn/winter edge. I love overstated pieces like these as I think they are so simple yet still somehow a great piece of statement jewelry. I'd be more inclined to wear these with messy, salt-sprayed waves to keep with the bohemian feel or pair with a sleek topknot to add a more edgy vibe.

Urban Outfitters is always a favourite of mine to look for jewelry and I was definitely not disappointed whilst looking for statement earrings. This angular pair are one of my favourites of the ones I found. The delicate details on this pair seem to put a pretty twist on an otherwise quite harsh shaped pair of earrings.

Probably the most simple of the earrings I found, I still think this pair could be a noticeable touch to an outfit. Because these earrings are quite simple, I'd definitely pair them with a berry lip for the perfect autumn look.

Bohemian pieces will definitely be making an appearance in my looks over the next few months, especially in the form of jewelry. If anyone has any suggestions for websites or shops good for those kinds of things, leave me a comment and let me know!

Have a lovely week everyone,

My Autumn Favourites/Essentials

Now that we are well into the Autumn months, I thought I'd opt for a bit of a change in my usual makeup and skincare routine. For makeup, besides the usual introduction of plum lip colours, I changed up my regular black, kohl liner for MAC's Technakohl Liner in the colour 'Purple Dash'. My mum introduced me to these liners late last year and I now have them in a few different colours, though this by far my favourite. The application of this liner is brilliantly smooth and great for creating a colourful twist on the graphic eye seen so many times on the catwalks this year.

Another great product for creating the graphic eye is the black liquid liner. My particular favourite is Soap and Glory's Supercat Liner Pen. Because of the fact it is a marker, it makes the application much easier and is great for creating a perfect, precise wing.

(Left - Technakohl Liner in 'Purple Dash', Right - Supercat Liner Pen)

Though an old product in my collection, as you can probably tell from the old packaging, this loose MAC pigment in the colour 'Melon' has been a seemingly, regular choice when I do my eye makeup. I love the colour of this product and even though it is quite glamorous, it is easy to use to make a more sheer, every day look, as well as being easily build-able to make a more dramatic look. I like to pat this over my lid with a light, brown, matte shadow in my crease to contrast how shimmery the pigment is - to make this look more dramatic, I'd switch out the light brown for a darker shadow to add more drama to the eye.

The cold weather can really take its toll on my already dry skin and naturally, curly hair. To combat these temperature changes I like to apply a weekly hair mask to my hair. My current favourite is this Moroccan Oil one. It is a lot thicker than the one I had previously been using but leaves my hair looking and feeling softer.

As well as my hair, the weather change really has an effect on my skin. A product I discovered a few years ago and have used in the winter, every year since is this Ahava Time to Hydrate Moisturiser. It is a lot thicker than most moisturisers and I do find that only a small amount is needed, as anymore can cause my skin to break out and become oily. This product is also great for applying as a base under makeup for a smooth foundation application.

Nail colours are the easiest way to transition your looks from Summer to Autumn. Matte nails have been a huge trend this year so I recently picked up this Topshop one, which I find does the job but anymore than a thin coat can cause my nail colours to become grey looking. The next nail product I've been loving is this one from Mavala in the colour 'Ginza'. Black nails are a year round obsession of mine, my most recent addition to my black nail collection is this one from Nails inc. in the colour Maddox Street. This colour is probably more of a shimmery gun metal than a black which is something I really like about it and is easily my current favourite nail polish.

So, I'm slightly late to jump on the bandwagon with this one but I'm OBSESSED with my first eos lip balm. I saw them in the Oxford Street Topshop in London and I had to have one. Mine is in the honeysuckle flavour and I have been using it, easily, a hundred times a day. Maybelline Baby Lips have finally arrived in the UK and I was sure to pick up one that I had heard so much about which is the 'Cherry Me' flavour which is perfect for me since I love red lips so much.

My final, and only non-beauty, favourite is this Lily-Flame candle in the Lavender and Lime scent. This time of year is not complete without candles and this one has definitely been well loved these last few weeks. This scent leaves my whole room smelling beautiful and I definitely want to invest in some more candles from Lily-Flame.

I'd love to hear some of your Autumn favourites and essentials!

MAC's Christmas Collection: Stroke of Midnight

The months leading up to Christmas are among my favourites, between the knitwear, over-sized coats and fairy lights, I get extremely excited by this time of year. One thing I always look forward to are the brand new holiday collections all over the makeup stands, in particular MAC. I find it extremely difficult to resist any of the MAC limited collections, with the change in packaging alone, I am completely smitten with any of the exclusive products. This year, MAC's 'Stroke of Midnight' Collection has been no exception. I love the black, white and gold graphic packaging that creates a sleek look that, although is extremely original, are so obviously MAC. The collection is extremely different to last year's 'Glamour Daze' which I loved (and still use) but it wasn't very 'me', this year is a lot more to my personal taste and the products will definitely be on my Christmas list! The collection includes the usual eye and face palettes as well as exclusive eye, lip and cheek bags.

Take a look at some of my particular favourites:

Stroke of Midnight Eye Bag in Violet £39.50 -
This chic bag includes MAC's famous paint pot in 'Frozen Violet', fluid line in 'Blacktrack', Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara and a duel ended shader/line brush.
This handy, little bag will be a definite must-have in my makeup collection, since purple is my favourite eye shadow colour against my brown eyes and I'm always one for a cream shadow, this bag is perfect for me! I also love MAC mascaras so I'm excited to try this one out.

Stroke of Midnight Lip and Cheek Bag in Coral £50.00 -
This pretty essentials bag features lipstick in 'Night to Remember', lipglass in 'Pure Sophistication' and powder blush in 'Margin'. The handy bag also includes a slim mirror and 129SE powder/blush brush making this kit perfect for a pretty on the go makeup look.

Stroke of Midnight Viva Glam Bag £29.00 -
No MAC collection would be complete without Viva Glam making an appearance. This Lipstick/Lipglass duo are beautiful colours for the holiday season with the original Viva Glam lipstick (Viva Glam 1) paired with the brand new matching Lipglass. These burgundy lip colours are beautiful additions to any makeup bag. The only red and black bag in this collection incorporates the signature Viva Glam style into this holiday collection.
